The art of the "Tetsubin" Japanese castiron teapots is one that has been handed down from generation to generation. This labour intensive, handmade teapot will last you a lifetime. In Japan they are treated as family heirlooms. Although many have tried to copy this technique - nobody has succeeded in copying the perfection in this Japanese art.

Japanese Tetsubins are not water kettles. Each teapot is glazed inside with porcelain enamel. We do no recommend placing these teapots over direct heat.
